Overview

Embark on one of the world’s most iconic treks—a journey to the foot of Mount Everest. This adventure is far more than a physical challenge; it is a profound cultural immersion into the world of the Sherpa people, their ancient Buddhist monasteries (gompas), and their sacred mountain valleys.

Your experience begins with a dramatic flight into Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu and an adventure in itself. From there, you’ll walk through the stunning Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, home to rare wildlife like the snow leopard and red panda.

The trek culminates in two unforgettable achievements: standing at Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and climbing to the summit of Kala Patthar (5,555m), renowned as the single best viewpoint for breathtaking, up-close panoramas of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the entire Khumbu icefall.

Trek Highlights at a Glance

Cultural Immersion: Experience traditional Sherpa hospitality in villages like Namche Bazaar and Tengboche, and visit ancient monasteries.

Witness sunrise over Mount Everest from Kala Patthar and see the mighty Khumbu Glacier up close at Base Camp.

Trek through Sagarmatha National Park, a protected area with diverse Himalayan flora and fauna.

Enjoy the comfort of teahouse lodges along the entire route, offering warm meals, cozy beds, and a chance to connect with fellow trekkers.

Best Seasons: The optimal windows are March to May (spring) and October to November (autumn) for stable weather and clear skies.

Accommodation: The trail is famous for its network of teahouse lodges. You’ll find comfortable rooms, hearty meals (from traditional dal bhat to familiar western dishes), and warm hospitality every night.

Fitness Level: This is a moderate-to-Strenuous trek due to the high altitude. Excellent physical fitness and proper acclimatization days are essential for safety and enjoyment.

Max Altitude: 5,545m (Kala Patthar).
