I am Marion a French women social entrepreneur working in Lhasa-Tibet. I have climbed Mount Everest on north side this year thanks to the support of Climbalaya Sherpas’ team. In spring 2014 Phurba Namgyal Sherpa was one of my personal Sherpas on a Mount Everest Expedition. Unfortunately we became eye witness of the tragic avalanche in Khumbu icefall. While Phurba helped to rescue the victims in the icefall, I organised the medical treatment of the injured Sherpas in the basecamp. After the expedition I visited all Sherpa families of the victims in Khumbu and Kathmandu together with Phurba and we gave donations. Back in Germany I started the “Everest Sherpa Foundation” and collected a lot of donations. In march 2015 I came back to Nepal and visited all Sherpa families again with Phurba and Mingma Sherpa and a TV team from Germany. We gave donations and created sponsorships for the education of the children. Climbalaya organized the trek and film project perfectly. Thanks for your great support Phurba, Mingma and Dawa.

In autumn 2014 Mingma Sherpa from Thame has been our climbing sirdar on a double summit expedition to Mt. Shisha Pangma and Mt. Cho Oyu. With his extraordinary experience and knowledge in mountaineering and expeditions in the Himalayas Mingma was the perfect sirdar for our team. It was not only his strength on the mountain but also his talent in teamleading and organization, which contributed a lot to the success of our expedition. I recommend Mingma Sherpa with full confidence as a sirdar and tour operator for all treks and expeditions in Nepal and Tibet.

My name is Alejandro Lamus. 37 years old. I am Venezuelan (South America). I know Dawa Sherpa since 2013, when he organized my first expedition to the Himalayas. He made a great job, for personal circumstances at the very last moment, I asked him to change all plans and instead of going to Shisha Pangma, he managed to include me in an expedition to Manaslu. This was a very hard work to do and for many reasons the best decision ever. On 2014 I returned back to Nepal. Once again Dawa Sherpa, who now became my friend made all the arranges for an expedition to Cho Oyu. We were three people, unfortunately as soon as we first got to ABC, one of the members became so ill and we had to evacuate her straight back to Kathmandu. Dawa´s help was very useful, as we managed to carry on with the expedition, being secure and relax for the health condition of my Venezuelan friend.

I am sixties. Old man. I thought it was the last chance for me due to my age. It was my dream to climb the top of over 6000m altitude since I was young. Then I was able to climb to Island peak at the age of 65 in October 2014. The staff of climbalaya did perfectly work for me. My guide Phurba was arranging to maximize for the success of climbing every moment. When acclimatization stage, Phurba realized my physical condition. He arranged the variety ways for my success. He prepared two yaks, and made a high camp just for me. He carried the emergency oxygen to the summit. There were absolutely no worry for me, so I was able to climb.

We can not go to the Himalayas expedition many times. So, it is very important for us to choose the good agent. If I had chosen the other agent, my dream could not have come true. If I get the second time of chance of Himalaya expedition. Of course, I would choose the climbalaya again. Thank you again to the all staff of climbalaya with all my heart.

We attempted the Shishapangma with Climbalaya. Not only this adventure was exceptional, but we also met exceptional people with Phurba, Dawa, Ningma and all their team from Climbalaya. From the beginning to the very very end (the even drove us back to the airport at 4 in the morning), they made our adventure comfortable (very good tents, great food …), very well organized and all that with an amazing kindness and a trustworthy team. I was successfully able to ascend to the summit of Amadablam in 2013. That year, there were huge amount of snow on Amadablam. Many of expedition was not succeeded. I was able to success, it’s all thanks to Climbalaya.

Dawa Sherpa is a great Managing Director. He replied perfectly to my request by e-mail.

Mingma Sherpa is the Executive Board Member of NMA. He supported all my request. I required the extra oxygen at base camp, because of heavy snow. He ordered to transport the extra oxygen to base camp. Extra oxygen was delivered to me in just one day.

Phurba Sherpa is the International Instructor guide with the great skill. He helped me climbing in the dangerous situations. He is also a great photographer. He continued to take movies even on hard rock wall and hard ice wall of Amadablam.

I have known Mr. Dawa Sherpa since 2001, when we had our first encounter. On this occasion we wanted to climb Mount Everest from a Kangshung Face by a side of the mountain which is extremely less travelled. It was a huge logistical task and it was perfectly executed by his men. So when in 2017 fall my client wanted to visit a remote location in Nepal, it was obvious we would use Climbalaya for the trek services.

We knew the Dolpo is not often visited by foreigners and the facilities of the area is not suitable for tourist. It was one of the reason we choose the destination. We know also the Climbalaya’s guide Mr. Finjo Tahsi already guided on several occasion in the region. This proved a great benefit for us, since he had to alter our itinerary a little, because my client was not able to complete the longer (10 hour +) stages. During our trip Finjo was extremely dedicated to our need, both physical and cultural as well. We were especially interested in old monasteries in Dolpo and he helped us to visit all the possible ones many times just happened because he used his connections and personal charm.

We did the Lower Dolpo trek with a team of our guide and cook and they locally hired three porters and mule driver with 4 mules and a horse. So we were totally self-sufficient on the road. The food was great and we complimented our cook at every meal. All the staff was extremely helpful and flexible. We met some other parties on the route and we could see a major difference regarding the preparedness of our staff.

We spent truly memorable near three week with the Climbalaya’s staff and even in Kathmandu their connections proved helpful. They we looked after us perfectly during our whole stay In Nepal.

I believe it was not our lat time in Nepal and in the future we would stick to Climbalaya. I can highly recommend the company to anyone who seek a professionally organized trip in Nepal or Tibet!

Awesome trip to the Top of the World!! Everest was my 6th of the Seven Summits. I summitted from the North during a difficult year with a very short weather window and Climbalaya was instrumental in helping me achieve my goal. Every detail was always taken care of and I felt the entire Climbalaya team has been very supportive of me every step of the way.

Mingma, a head of the camp is highly hospitable and always in-the-know on all the latest developments on the Mountain. My sherpa Pemba Tensin who already had 13 Everest summits under his belt was highly professional and always looking out for my safety.

Everything was on time, well thought out, highly organized and efficient. When I suddenly decided to arrange for a second sherpa, the entire Climbalaya team efficiently worked out all the logistics.

In short, the experience I had with Climbalaya was best in class from the beginning to the end. I can’t thank Climbalaya enough for this amazing experience. When I go back climbing in Himalayas, I will be going back through Climbalaya.
