In 2014, Dawa Sherpa and his companions Mingma Sherpa and Phurba Namgyal Sherpa transformed their 15 years of experience and passion for adventure tourism into a tourism business. Their lives, which revolved around two passions: climbing and the Himalayas, culminated into the creation of Climbalaya Treks and Expedition.

Climbalaya is a locally based Sherpa owned adventure company providing specialized and high quality mountaineering and trekking services in the Himalaya. Climbalaya specializes in providing every level of required logistical support for mountaineering expeditions, peak climbing and treks in the Himalaya. We also specialize in organising a select number of top listed trips for adventurers which allows us to focus on our strength and expertise.
Expedition Climbalaya
We believe in striving for the challenge to attach perfection, which is why in 2016 we took it upon of ourselves to embark in the biggest expedition Climbalaya has seen by climbing Mt Everest with a team of more than 20 climbers.
We successfully completed this endeavour and it was a moment of pride for us as we are constantly challenging boundaries.
We are committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and on numerous occasions with the help of our travellers and Sherpa Nepalhilfe, we have set up funds to help the Sherpa families who have lost their bread earners during mountaineering expeditions. Other CSR includes extended support to reconstructing buildings and community houses damaged during the 2015 earthquake in association with friends and well-wishers from Germany.

The Heroes Project Team USMC Staff Sergeant Charlie Linville became the first combat wounded veteran and founder Tim Medvetz reached the summit on 19th May 2026, along with camera man Kazuya Hiraide
Ngima Tashi Sherpa, Mingma Sherpa MD Climbalaya Trek & Expeditions, Chhiring Wanchu Sherpa, Pasang Sherpa and Lhakpa Nuru Sherpa. The team was the first group to reach the summit of Mt. Everest from the north side in 2016.
Irina Galay, Victor Bobok with Pemba Tenjin Sherpa and Pasang Sona summitted on the 20th May 2016. Irina Galay becomes the first Ukrainian to reach the summit of Mt. Everest. Hungarian Everest expedition from the South side with Davis Klein and Szilard without supplementary oxygen. Above and Beyond Caner “ A Spiritual Journey to Mt. Kailash “ with 20 Cancer Survivors and Care Givers led by Richard Deming in 2017. Logistical and administrative support to Nims dai Project Possible Mt. Shishapangma expediton in 2019. Climbalay.
