Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal located in the Makalu Barun National park in the Sagarmatha Zone. It contains three main summits: Mera north, 6,476m, Mera central 6,454m and Mera south, 6,065m. Our goal is to reach the Mera central due to safety concerns. Despite its height and stunning location, it is a straightforward climb on snow and ice and it is not a technically difficult climb, but physically very demanding because of the altitude. Stunning views of the mighty Himalayas from the summit such as, Chamlang, Makalu and Baruntse in the east to Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse to the north and Kanchenjunga are the major attractions of this climb.
