Overview
Kailash-Guge Kingdom-Lhasa offers devout adventure and spiritual seekers a surreal experience to the roof of the world, Tibet.
Tibet, often referred to as the “Roof of the World,” is a region known for its breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and spiritual significance. Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, is a city steeped in history and spirituality. It is home to the iconic Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which was once the winter residence of the Dalai Lama.
Lhasa is also the center of Tibetan Buddhism, with key sites such as Jokhang Temple, which is considered the holiest temple in Tibet. The culture of Tibet is deeply intertwined with its spiritual practices, art, and traditions, characterized by vibrant festivals, intricate thangka paintings, and unique forms of music and dance.
For both Buddhists and Hindus the mountain is considered the most holy place, for Buddhists Kang Rinpoche is where good – Guru Rinpoche – won over evil – Shenrab of the Bon Po followers. For Hindus In Mt.Kailash is known to be the abode of Lord Shiva. For both, the Kora (ie ritual circuit) it is considered to cleanse the sins of a lifetime.
