Resumption of issuing on arrival visa for tourists

Climbalaya is delighted to inform that the government of Nepal has officially announced the resumption of issuing on arrival visa for tourists that are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The fully vaccinated tourists are also exempt from quarantine provision.

Tourists must make sure that they have received their last dose of vaccine at least 14 days before their travel to Nepal.

Fully vaccinated tourists are required to carry the following and present to the immigration officials.

  • Vaccination Certificate with proof of 14 days after the last dose.
  • RT-PCR negative test issued within 72 hours or less before first flight
  • Proof of hotel booking.

Non or Partially vaccinated tourists:

On arrival visa will not be provided for non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated tourists. They need to have prior visa from Nepalese Diplomatic missions in their respective countries.

After arrival in Nepal, they have to mandatorily quarantine themselves at the hotel for 10 days at their own expense in the hotels designated by Nepal Government.https://www.tourismdepartment.gov.np/pages/notices/33/195. On the 11th day, if they test negative, they are free to travel.

More than 19% of the total population is fully vaccinated and more than 21% has already received their first dose. As the hospitality sector belong to the prioritized frontline groups, above 95% of the hospitality workers have been fully vaccinated until now.
