Everest Sherpa Foundation Trek

Last year 2014, Dr. Matthias was a member of an expedition group to climb Everest from south side and was in base camp, when the avalanche happened on 18th April. He organized the medical help in the base camp for the injured Sherpas. After the tragedy he visited all families of the victims in Khumbu and in Kathmandu and donated some money. Back in Germany he opened the “Everest Sherpa Foundation” and collected funds for the families. Climbalaya successfully organized the trek in the Khumbu for Dr. Matthias and a German TV group in March where Dr. Matthias visited all families again in Kathmandu and Khumbu to donate more money and to create sponsors for the children in the future.
